Introduction: Multiple theories are speculating. One possible cause of the uprising could be that both humans and orca both eat the blue fin tuna. It’s possible that Gladis (Blanca Gladis or White Gladiator) a female whale was injured by fishing nets or a boat collision and was traumatized by it. In response Gladis started ramming boats. She figured out that the rudders and steering mechanisms on boats could sometimes be broken. Some boats have actually been disabled or sunk. Orcas are one of the smartest creatures on earth and have a larger brain to body ratio than humans. Gladis is doing what humans are reluctant to do which is organize. She taught the behavior to other whales, and they have been attacking boats in teams. Orca in the area are critically endangered and number 40 or less. Orca globally are stressed and seem to have an increase of incidents of them attacking several shark species and other whale species including sperm whales, pilot whales, beluga and humpback!
“According to Monika Wieland Shields, co-founder and director of the Orca Behavior Institute, orcas are culturally dialectical, and there’s only one orca culture that is bringing down ships. This particular orca culture has likely been heavily affected by fishing boats in the region, but has incorporated playing with ship rudders as a sport rather than revenge. While I can’t speak for Monika, I can say it makes sense for hyper intelligent aquatic species like dolphins and orcas to deal a poetic justice to some humans in the form of sport hunting. They’re supposedly not trying to kill people… Yet.
Around the time we wrote this another yacht was sank and extremely wealthy people were killed. Its impossible to know if orcas played a role.
Colonialism is at odds with human life and the earth in its entirety. It has been discovered that orcas are sinking yachts. All life is telling us to stop destroying our planet. I’m sure marine life is feeling the earth reach global boiling temperatures. We talk about revolution not as a choice but a science and a necessity. The resurrection of indigenous governance can save this earth as they lived with the earth instead of against it. How many more signs do we need that change is necessary? You cannot eat money and western civilization will learn this either way. The marine life incidents is a perfect example of what happens when we live outside our means.
We must do our part to decolonize our minds and hearts, our lives and ultimately our communities. Eventually we will decolonize the seas and life on earth will be able to balance out again.”

- Orca are demonstrating organization. This is the main take away. Organization is critical for orca, they have not succumbed to western individualism.
2. The orca interacting with the yacht at least appear to have class consciousness and their target selection is superb. The greater left could benefit from emulating those traits. They play catchup to the orca.
3. Join I.S.R if wildlife conservation, and biology from an anticolonial perspective is something that resonates with you. Help build an essential apparatus for sustained decolonization. Help build the fledgling pan indigenous government to be more than a dream. We are nothing without the masses. We aint shit without you.
